Help - For childcare providers

Great to hear you’d like to start working as a babysitter! Getting started is simple. Sign up for free and create an account on Babysits. If you’ve babysat before, be sure to ask families to write you references. Once your profile is complete, search for families in your area and click the "Contact"-button on their profile to reach out. Let them know you're interested, and the rest will follow!

100% free! 🎉 Babysits is completely free for all babysitters and childcare providers. You can create an account, search for jobs, and contact parents without any charges. We believe in connecting great childcare providers with families without financial barriers. As a member on our platform, you keep 100% of what you earn - we never take a cut from your income.

You need to be at least 16 years old (or an older age if this applies locally) to register as a babysitter on Babysits. This requirement ensures all our caregivers have the necessary maturity to provide safe, quality childcare. 👧👦 Safety is our priority, and age requirements are an important part of maintaining our trusted community.

To apply for babysitting jobs on Babysits, simply visit a family's profile and click the "Contact" button. You'll need to have both a visible profile and completed ID verification before you can reach out to parents. This verification process helps ensure everyone's safety and builds trust within our community. Once verified, you can easily connect with families looking for your childcare services! 🔔

When your profile visibility is set to "public" or "platform only," parents can easily reach out to you through our messaging system! You'll receive notifications when families are interested in your babysitting services. Simply check your Babysits inbox to view and reply to these messages directly. This secure communication channel helps you connect with families while keeping your personal contact information private until you're ready to share it. 📩

It's up to you! 💰 As a member on Babysits, you set your own hourly rate in your profile based on your qualifications and experience. You can see what other members typically charge in your area for guidance. Final rates may vary based on the number of children, duties required, and location, and are negotiated directly with each family.

We're so sorry to hear about your negative experience. This must have been concerning for you, especially as a childcare provider. Please share what happened. You can take several actions: leave an honest review to help other members, block the member to prevent future contact, or report the family directly. You can use the report button on their profile or reach out to our customer support team who are ready to assist with your concerns.

We send reminders and hide inactive profiles, but you can improve your chances by checking their last activity and response time, contacting recently active families, sending a follow-up message if needed, and staying active on your own profile (as families may not respond if they think you're no longer available for babysitting).

In some jurisdictions, it is legally mandatory to arrange a formal employment contract when providing childcare services. While our intake form is an excellent starting point for clarifying expectations, it may not meet all legal requirements for a binding contract in your area. We recommend completing our intake form with the family and considering whether additional documentation is needed based on your local regulations, especially for regular arrangements. This helps protect both parties and ensures clear communication about responsibilities and payment terms.

When families book you through Babysits, they pay via our secure platform and you receive your earnings after completing the job. If anything goes wrong, our support team steps in to help. No more awkward money conversations with families. Note: If you're under 18, you cannot use our booking system. Arrange payment directly with families instead.
